Whether you’re already a master of your craft or you’re still learning, events and workshops are a great way to add some new skills to your repertoire.
Here we’ve rounded up 4 events happening in November for actors:
1. Creating the Actor the Industry Needs

“UWL and DSL have joined forces and we invite you to join us for drinks, nibbles and a panel discussion hosted by Michael Billington. Panellists will include Bill Alexander, Andre Bullock, Maggie Ollerenshaw and Olivia Vinall.
Doors open at 12:30 and our most recent graduates will perform short scenes before and after the discussion. We look forward to seeing you there!
2. Mindfulness in performance
Cost: £135.00
Date: Saturday, November 2nd
This masterclass enables you to be more present in your work and life. It gives you the skills to deal more effectively with nerves, increase confidence, lessen the negative effects of the inner critic and so move towards your best self in performance and life. The masterclass is limited to 8 participants so that it can be tailored to the needs of the group and each participant can receive individual attention.
3. Intimacy on set workshop
Cost: Free
Date: Monday, November 11th
With theatre, TV, and film demanding ever more nudity and sexual content, how do actors, directors, and movement directors work to serve the production, and support the actor?
With the #Metoo and #Times up movement, codes of conduct are being established by productions for theatre and film. As part of this positive and much needed change, the industry is now embracing Intimacy Coordination as best practice when working with intimacy, simulated sex, and nudity.
The Intimacy On Set guidelines invite open communication and transparency, putting in place a structure that allows agreement and consent of touch, and a process through which intimate content can be choreographed safely.
4. Casting and Audition success
Cost: £16.76
Date: Multiple
Each class will cover some much needed skills for new and existing actors wanting to do their best on camera, and to nail their audition.
If you have an upcoming audition, this is the class for you!
